The Minister of ICT, Issa Zarepour, spent the second day of the meeting of the Ministers of Communications and Transport of the developing countries in Istanbul with bilateral meetings of the Iranian delegation and other participating delegations and participation in specialized meetings.
Among the bilateral meetings of the Minister of Communications was a conversation with Rashad Nabiyof, Minister of Communications and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to expand their cooperation in the field of international interactions and strengthen the capabilities of the private sector in the field of communications by holding joint exhibitions.
After the meeting, Zarepour, referring to the importance of the issue of data traffic transit from north to south, said: "The Republic of Azerbaijan can play a key role in relation to data traffic transit." He added: "In this meeting, we expressed our interest in launching joint data centers between the two countries, centers that can host popular international content and services and create better user quality for users in both countries."
Explaining the capacity of Iranian technology companies and platforms and the convergence of the two countries to interact with regional platforms were other topics discussed in this bilateral meeting. The announcement of the readiness of Iranian platforms to provide services in the Republic of Azerbaijan was one of the other topics discussed at the meeting, which was welcomed by the Minister of Communications and Transport of Azerbaijan.
The 12th meeting of ICT Council of the Summit of Communication and Transportation of Developing Countries was held in Turkey with The Minister of ICT, Issa Zarepour.
